I can hear you say: “Oh just another church like the rest”. Well you’d be wrong to make that assumption!
So what makes us different from the rest? Please, read on…
We are different because we base all our beliefs on the Bible; from page one to the end. It’s a book about good news and we could all do with some of that today!
The Bible reveals the true purpose of life today and gives us hope for tomorrow.
As a small friendly group of people with a common love for the Bible and its teaching, we hold regular meetings for worship and to teach and discuss that message, that “good news” called “the Gospel”. Although small in number, we are part of a worldwide fellowship.
The Burnside Christadelphians are a small family based Christian group. Our Faith and beliefs are based firmly on the Bible, which we believe is the word of God.
The Christadelphians are a worldwide group who believe in the accuracy and reliability of the bible and that it is a trusted source for belief. Whilst sharing much with the worldwide community, each group is independent, so the church has no hierarchy. A further unique feature is that we have no paid ministry, with all positions handled by volunteers.
The Burnside Christadelphians are a friendly, welcoming group, keen to share the bible and the benefits of faith in God. We are appreciative of the incredible work that God has achieved to solve many of the problems each person faces. The essential elements of our belief are simple and straightforward, with many Bible quotes supporting our faith.
We are Christadelphians. What? That’s right, Chris-ta-del-phi-ans; it means “Brothers (and Sisters) of Christ.”
We could have chosen to call ourselves Christians. So why didn’t we? Well, in about 100 A.D. some Christians began to change what Christ and his apostles taught. So, as most Christians now don’t have the same beliefs as they did, Christadelphians chose a different name.
We’re not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, as we believe it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes (Rom 1:16). The Bible has the answers to today and tomorrows problems.

According to the Bible itself, reading and meditating on its words can have a profound impact on your life, both spiritually and practically. The Bible promises a wide range of benefits for those who engage with it regularly. Here are some of the key things that reading the Bible can do for you, based on its teachings:
The Bible is considered the Word of God and serves as a means of communication between God and His people. Regular reading and meditation on Scripture help you develop a deeper relationship with God.
James 4:8 – “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Reading the Bible helps you understand God’s character, His will for your life, and the path He wants you to follow.
The Bible is seen as the ultimate source of truth about life, morality, salvation, and the nature of God. By reading it, you can better discern what is true in a world filled with competing ideologies.
John 17:17 – “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
Psalm 119:160 – “The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”
Life’s struggles, worries, and pains are met with comfort and peace through the promises found in the Bible. The Scriptures often offer encouragement in times of sorrow, loss, or distress.
Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Matthew 11:28-30 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
The Bible offers practical wisdom for all areas of life: relationships, finances, work, and personal growth. Many of its teachings, especially in books like Proverbs, provide guidelines for wise living.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Psalm 119:97-100 – “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.”
The Bible can increase your faith as you learn about the character of God, the history of His faithfulness, and the works of Jesus Christ. It helps you see how God’s promises are fulfilled and strengthens your trust in Him.
Romans 10:17 – “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
The Bible offers tools for spiritual resistance. Just as Jesus used Scripture to resist temptation during His time in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11), the Bible empowers you to overcome the temptations you face.
Psalm 119:11 – “I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”
Ephesians 6:17 – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” The Bible is likened to a weapon that helps you defend against evil.
Reading the Bible has the power to renew your mind, changing the way you think and act. As you meditate on God’s Word, you become more aligned with His purposes.
Romans 12:2 – “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Philippians 4:8 – “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” The Bible helps you focus on the good and the eternal.
As you read the Bible, you are confronted with the character of God and His commands, which shape your own character. You are encouraged to cultivate virtues like love, humility, patience, and kindness.
Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”
2 Peter 1:5-7 – “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.”
The Bible offers clarity on why you exist, what your purpose is, and how to live a fulfilling life. It reveals that the ultimate purpose is to love God and love others (Matthew 22:37-39).
Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
The Bible teaches that through Jesus Christ, reading the Bible and applying its message can lead to eternal life. It reveals the way to salvation through faith in Jesus, who is described as the “way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).
John 5:39 – “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life. And it is they that bear witness about me.”
2 Timothy 3:15 – “And that from childhood you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
Reading the Bible compels you to share its message with others. The Bible encourages believers to go and make disciples, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”
